Seatpost plus saddle extension in that bike (the trad geo one) is 18.5 cms, not 22. furthermore, and in reference to majklnajt's trad geo 57 c50's seat post extension, you posted, and i quote:

Eh, no. It is low for the frame. That saddle height is near correct for a 70s-80s-era frame, before the advent of STI/Ergo shifting. Riders began sizing down about 2-3 cm after that, in order to maintain a decent saddle-to-bar drop. Generally, I don't think you should go lower than about 18-19 cm of combined saddle and post on a modern bike. With the current setup, there is almost no drop.

go figure, too short, bad for Colonia, too long, bad for Colonia, and 18.5, right in the middle of Colonia's rule, bad still. puff, guess u where just bored at work, or that any colnago other than ur extreme c, just doesnt look nice :-)

classic lol.

There is a specific, optimum range of seat heights, saddle setback, and drop that work properly on a traditional road frame (from a design perspective), and I didn't come up with it. The range for height is about 16-20cm (TT to saddle top). The height used depends on body proportions, frame size, and preference. For a 56, your position is quite extreme and you certainly have more than 18.5 cm of post and saddle combined (avg. for the frame is about 17); but if you like it, then ride it. You posted your bike on a public forum; so now we are we are discussing it. :noidea:

I just finished uploading pictures of all the Colnago Master frames I have sold over the years onto my Flickr account. Seeing as there are so many Colnago (Master) enthusiast on this forum and on this topic, I thought you might find it interesting to take a look:

I will be adding more pics of other Colnago models and more information about the frames in the coming days.

Here are a couple of teasers
