This will have already been covered, but I will ask anyway: Can you mate all the ultegra di2 parts directly to the shimano 11 speed cassette (/chain)? Who's actually doing mix and match successfully?

Repeat question: Has anyone yet tried the 9070RD with Ultegra shifters & FD???

After getting it all on the bike and updating firmware I can confirm the following setup works with 6770 derailleurs and STIs:

- SM-EW90-A, junction box for shifters and charging point
- SM-BTR2 battery pack
- SM-BCR2 battery charger (and e-tube interface)
- 2 X EWSD50 to connect to the shifters (one to each side) as the SM-EW90-A doesn't have the inbuilt cables of the SM-EW67AE

With SM-BCR2 I was able to run Shimano's e-tube project to update the firmware and enable multi-shift. Couldn't have been easier.

The RD dictates the number of total speed for the system, so the answer to this question is a "Yes" but it has a contingency. You have to update to the latest firmware (multi-shift compatible) in order for the 6770 shifters to recognize the 9070 RD. Non of this is "officially" compatible, by the way.

Unofficially speaking, you "can" get it to work but it is not recommended as the 6770 FD does not have the micro-adjust feature to allow micro-trimming of the FD to accomodate the extra cog and added FD cage travel/movement. Again, Shimano is not, will not, and has not suggested this as a compatible combination of components - experiment at your peril/non-compatibility.

Hubert, how about chainrings? Will theh 9-10 speed chainrings work or do we have to buy 11-speed?

Thanks

Could be used as a cool 1x11 setup for a CX bike though :)

the best place for putting the battery in the seat post for Ultegra upgrade, is on eBay.

None of that is needed if you go with this http://www.ebay.com/itm/290894523169?ss ... 1555.l2649" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Maybe I missed it but can anyone confirm if multi-shift will work if you have the older junction SM-EW67AE.
Or must you have SM-EW90-A to have multi-shift functionality?

Works with the older junction just fine.
