Nice build sedluk!! Last time that I went to see my friend, he had like 30 Rca painted on a rack ready to go. The frame is really light when you hold it up in your hands. Its almost like a pack of pasta lol

My serial number suggests that my frame was made December, 2012. There was a batch that was delivered soon after the announcement and it looks like they were made over the last few months. Cervelo did an amazing job of keeping it quiet, it looks like they were making frames and having frames painted and not telling anyone.

How's your mixed cassette go? I'm think about an 11-29..
What gears did you drop the 17?

This bike deserve BERK seatpost combo only and better tubulars, then will be also under 5 kg.

I take a Super Record 12-29 and a Chorus 11-25, I take the two Ti clusters from the 12-29 and the 5 smaller cogs from the 11-25. I end up with: 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 17, 19, 21, 23, 26, 29

It works well with on a Cervelo with 53/39 and 50/34. You end up with a chain length that is not too loose in the 39-11 or the 34-11 and not too tight in the 53-29 or the 50-29. The 52/36 not so well. You can either cut the chain so that the chain almost touches the bottom of the RD in the 36-11 and fine in the 52-29. Or cut the chain so that 36-11 has some tension but 52-29 is too tight for my taste. I go with the longer chain length. There is less than 1 cm of tension in the 36-11 when the chain is new. And as the chain wears it gets longer and gets closer to the RD. I have not had a problem but I change my chains more frequently than most. If you had a very worn stretched chain in the 52/36 & 11-29, the chain it would slap up against the bottom of the RD while riding in the 36-11. It would hit the bottom of the chain that is in the RD. Probably not a big calamity and this would only happen when you shifted into the 36-11 which is not something that most people would be spending much time in. But that might be why they do not sell an 11-29.

What's the chain stay length of the RCA?
I'm running 52/36 and might want 50/34 for a little euro alpine adventure time in August
I like crossing the chain big to big but never small to small
I'm also fond of a new chain every 3000km, 4000 max.

I like the idea of the 52/36 29/11 it's kinda a killa set up..
Prolly get away with out the full compact cranks if I get a little fitter..
I normally run a 25/11 Cassette and given you need to buy 2 cassettes to make a 29/11 it's prolly not an every day cassette..

Not too worried about the chain slack issues I was wondering more about the shifting. Is it any different from the std cassettes? And do you notice the lack of the 16?
