robncircus , love that pic , near where I live there is an old disused red british telephone box next to the village green with a library in it too. That's European budget cutting for you, very few libraries now! Must get a pic

Thanks I've always found it neat. It sits on the edge of a high class neighborhood (Pacific Palisades, CA), but it's a great community token. Would love to see your neighborhood makeshift also!

Its not every day the public get access to pass through a military firing range:
Twice a year in fact.
There is an old deserted village named Imber that is right in the centre of the Salisbury Plain range, it has not been occupied since 1943. The road to it is open at Christmas and Easter so a service can be held at the 13th century church which still stands there.
Somewhat amusing is that there are 4 Strava segments on this road, within the range itself!
