Anyone got the new Rapha Pro Team Jersey (£140). If so what's it like? It looks nice. I've heard the pockets aren't great.

Is the fitting close to the Assos SS.13 Jersey?

That's $212.53 USD for a jersey.

It might be a while. :noidea:

I got last years on sale. It's very nice and very close fitting. I haven't worn it on a ride yet so I can't comment on the pockets. I wear a med. Rapha and sized up to large for the Pro Team jersey. I'd say a med. Pro is tighter fitting than a med Assos UNO and a med Assos is tighter than a non Pro Rapha. I just tried all of them on.

The pink Rapha Pro Team kit is sharp. I'd totally get a set if it were half the price.

$470 though? Fffffffuuuuuuuuu.

It will go on sale but you'll have to wait 'til fall/winter. All the Sky stuff will go on sale too if it doesn't completely sell out. I paid $170 Canadian for the jersey. Still not cheap but acceptable for the quality. An Assos is 200 dollars here.

For those dudes posting here who like the Rapha jerseys/kits, but not their price, perhaps you can still snag an Andy Hampsten '88 Giro Gavia Pass commemorative jersey http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OnrwdlzbFdw. They were marked down to $150 http://www.velocipedesalon.com/forum/f2/hampsten-jerseys-sale-rapha-1967.html . And don't forget, that includes Andy's race number and four safety pins to attach it.

Is the Uno the same fit as the SS.13? I fit medium for the SS.13 so I guess I'd be medium for the Pro Team. Is that correct?

I don't know. I don't own a SS.13. All I can tell you is a Pro Team med. is tighter than a Assos med.UNO and a UNO is tighter than a regular Rapha med.
Rapha even have a little warning on their site saying you might want to size up. If you're a very lean racer than your normal size should fit skin tight. If you don't have the super lean Pro racer body then size up.

I don't think this years Pro Team jersey is any different to last years in terms of cut/pocket placement, only new colours.

For me, fit, fabric quality and performance in hot weather is excellent. The pockets are just right, they don't sag and can fit quite a lot in them. The full length zipper is great on hot days and the little zipped pocket is great for storing valuables (although my phone doesn't fit in it :().

I wear size Small; 1.74m/57kg.

I don't care about price.

The only gripe I have is how they were packaged. Each jersey came in it's own separate bag made of plastic and a nylon fabric. Nice presentation, but really wasteful.

They don't do that anymore. They come in these funny looking bags. I bet they decompose or do something that's better for the environment.

That's a whole other question, what the hell do we do with all those old Rapha bags?

I was almost going to start a topic asking this question but seems to fit here ok. I bought a rapha pro team jersey recently and love the fit but def not the price. Are there any jerseys that have that similar tight/elastic fit, without the price?

And for the OP, I bought mine this year so I'm guessing it's the current one. It's the best fitting jersey I've ever had. I have broad shoulders so i usually size up and end up with a loose fitting jersey around my midsection. The material has a little extra give/stretch around my shoulders which i really like. It fits well everywhere and doesn't seem restrict me at all since the material is very elastic. The pockets seem fine to me too. Not noticeably different from any other jerseys, except for the extra radio pocket on the right side, which doesn't make a difference to me at all. I'd buy more if it weren't for the price. If there are no substitutes at a cheaper price then I'll get another for sure.

Edit: Actually after looking on the Rapha site I can't find my exact jersey (black with a white band) so i guess it must be last years. It does look exactly the same though so maybe they haven't changed it except for colours? I'm not sure?

In my view if you have a lean pro type physique, and you like an elastic skin tight type jersey the Assos SS.13 is the best out there. It's absolutely superb. Possibly the only one other than the Pro Team. The only problem is that it costs more than the Pro Team.

The only reason I'm considering an alternative in the Pro Team is I want a change. I think Rapha are copying the SS.13 with their Pro Team. Hopefully it will be as good.

no, it's not as snug. It's hard to find anything as good as the ss13 if it fits you well.

The Pearl Izumi PRO Speed jersey is also fantastic. I'm 6'1" 155 and have four in medium. They fit like a skin suit. A bit warm though.

Too bad the stock designs are so ugly. Mine are team kit. Photo: http://www.flickr.com/photos/milliron/8 ... hotostream (sorry, I'm an ugly model)

I couldn't agree more. My club used that similar Pearl Izumi style for our kits a few years back and they were the best fitting jersey's (form fitting) and bibs (acutally long enough so I don't look like I am wearing womens shorts:) )

But they stopped using them because they were so form fitting, members had to order a size (or two) larger (too hard on their ego's, I guess    )

I was sad theat Pearl's stock ones had such an unatractive design (personal opinion, I know).

BEST FITTING KIT I'VE OWNED (that is, "fitting", it may not be as "nice" or as long lasting, as Assos. But it fit perfectly for for me)
