I have a relevant 1000euros dilemma. Build a steel hardtail bike or buy a second hand Audio Research CD3 ? :?

It depends... if it's a CD3 MKII, then yes, get that! If it's the MK I... not a bad CD player, but you can do better, i.e. get the hardtail steel bike

Wot a cultured lot you are, lurking behind yer Campy's and Shims. I'm probably about to delve into a decent Hi Fi. I've got the bike ride music system sorted, so the home is next. Mown down on me M/bike pay out so it won't hurt. Fancy watches? Nah.

Hi-end is the exact opposite of ww. The heaviest the better! :D

My system:
Source:Cairn Fog 2
Preamplifier:Audio Research LS7
Amplifier:Audio Research VS110
Speakers:Harbeth Compact 7ES-2
Cables: VdH interconnects / Kimber speaker cables
Bought everything used or NOS for a fraction of their original price.

Heavy hi fi; better sound durability and emotion. Some sim's with the modern steels?

My scale only goes so far, so the weight for all my audio stuff reads "Err". :-)
