New Aero Specialized Helmet at Milan SanRemo??
Moderator: robbosmans
Nibali, Cav, and a few other Specialized riders were seen wearing a prototype Specialized helmet.

from the front the helmet doesn't look all that exotic but the side and back it looks quite different from any helmet I've seen.

What happen to the aero helmet that helped Cav won his world championship. I liked that design more than this edition.

I don't think they're really useful as we can see Sagan winning with "normal" helmets

Giro claims the Air Attack saves 17 seconds over 40 km, which translates to roughly 1 meter in a 200m final sprint.
So Sagan might have won with a more aero helmet

Scott had an aero road helmet on show as well:

I use packing tape on my Prevail. Maybe someone will complain next time I do a Pro Tour race.
Having sorted through the MIT and several other aero helmet studies/articles (Mark Cote is good to read up on) I had taken a leap for road rides. Under the right conditions (e.g. not sticken hot and/or lower speed climbing) I find a strong preference to this helmet - which is the early version of the LG Chrono (the current version I couldn't stomach) - can't say exactly but my research suggested in the neighborhood of 15 watts during a 30 mph sprint......equalling about .5 mph faster than the next guy.....real world I think I agree.....
Picture is not me but you get the idea - not an extreme TT "look" but then again compared against the latest from Giro and now that mushroom looking thing from Specialized........hmmmm now those take some getting used to.
And in true WW form - I'll admit that I took a weight gain bump compared to my LAS ventilated helmet.....ah the price we pay for speed......

You could just buy one of these aero road helmets...
...or just stretch a swimming cap over a standard road helmet.
