FSA stem lengths?
Moderator: robbosmans
Is it me or did FSA change the way in which they measure stem length? Last week I purchased an FSA OS-99 CSI stem in 120mm length but upon receipt, although the packaging was labeled 120mm, the stem measured 130mm center-to-center. Checked with the seller who is sending me a stem labeled 110mm as he indicated all of his stock was 1cm long when measured c-c.

My 110mm OS-99 CSI measured 120mm and I switched to a 100mm which measured 110mm. Therefore I suppose your 120mm version is normal.

My FSA OS-99 CSI 110mm comes in at 115mm measured horizontally (virtually of course) from stem/faceplate interface to top center. My 3T ARX-Team 120mm measured the exact way comes in at 121mm.
Guess since my road and cross bikes have FSA Plasma Integrated bars in 120mm length, I have lost the 'feel' for what actual stem lengths should look like. Since this stem is for my 29er, I sent back the 120mm stem and got a 110mm in exchange and like the previous poster, it is also ~115mm center-to-center when measured horizontally.
