i have an older Judy fork with metal springs to replace the
worn elastomers, i was wondering if there is a lighter
option than these heavy steel springs?

Many thanks for any help!!

Yes, there is: Check out Total Air cartridges at Ekosport
Depending on your fork model, you will lose some 200grams or even more, while greatly improving fork action and tuneability.

Don't let earlier reviews scare you: 1st and 2nd generation TA cartridges lost air, but today's models are very reliable. I have had them in my '99 SID for 2 years now, without any problems.
