Hi guys,
I am rebuilding my Independant Fabrication steel delux 29er (currently a sngle speed)
and have ordered a Shimano Alfine 11 speed Di2 hub. I have purchased the following
but have stopped at getting the battery. These are the parts I have so far.
I need some advice on the battery, Should I get an aftermarket in seat post
cell or use the traditional Shimano battery?
These are the parts I have so far:
o Shimano Alfine 11 Di2 Rear Hub, SG-S705, 32 Hole, Black
o Shimano Alfine Di2 Motor Unit, ME-S705
o Shimano Alfine Di2 Flat Bar Shifter, SW-S705
o Shimano Alfine Di2 Display Unit, SC-S705
o Shimano Alfine Di2 Small Parts Kit, Vertical Dropouts, SM-S705
o Shimano Di2 Under BB E-Wire, Junction Box, SM-JC40
Regards,
Hanna

I believe that the alfine di2 uses the e-tube wiring, which means it should be able to use the 9000 series seat tube battery (unless theres something different with the voltage or something)

I haven't seen much internal batteries available for the post 7970 / second generation / e-tube Di2 systems. Shimano itself has a new SM-BTR2 battery available now, although you need also their SM-BCR2 charger/diagnostic device. Have a look at our Di2 thread: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=107887&start=30" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
