 Indeed!
Well, I'm still collecting the various parts to hang from the frame. I am expecting the chainset tomorrow, a NOS 2010 Super Record Chainset (172.5mm 53/39). Cost, a mere £230!

The stem arrived yesterday:

160g though, a bit lardy but it ought to be stiff.

Whilst waiting for the Italians to finish their Chianti, I decided to put the cockpit together.

Bars & stem together.

Still waiting on the frame, so I've been fettling...

I took the chorus front mech bolt & captive washer, cut off the bolt head, reamed the hole to accept an M5 Ti bolt & the fibre-lyte chain catcher.

Keep watching this space!

LOL, I love your "build process without the frame". Good to see us Italians keeping you waiting.

It will make it all even sweeter when you are able to ride it!

I have to say that I'm pretty much wetting myself in anticipation. I'm just fettling to keep myself sane (think of it as therapy!) as I am building this bike as much as anything to cheer myself up after a messy break up last year that left me quite ill. I'm funding it with the money that I had put aside for settling down, if not getting hitched.

When will it arrive? I've paid the deposit to 'The Don' & for now I must wait patiently. It doesn't pay to offend 'The Don'

Colnago frames from Maestro take ages in my experience. If you are impatient, you probably made the wrong choice. It'll be worth it though, eventually.

Well, I have had a C50 from Mike about eight years ago & that took a while to arrive but seeing as:

A) I regard Mike as a friend &

B) He's saving me £700 over the UK list price &

C) Lets face it, we've not exactly had much in the way of decent weather in the UK lately.

I'm very happy to hang on for as long as is needed. Furthermore, I've also been able to take my time & assemble the super record groupset at my leisure, either from eBay or some seriously discounted shop parts - with a saving of about £650 over mail order.

Oh, and:

D) If it looks like this;

Then I can wait until Christmas!

News flash: The frame has landed in West Sussex!!! It might be a couple of weeks before I can get over to pick it up, but things are imminent!
