I'm headed to Belgium this weekend with my son. We're going to Omloop Het Nieuwsblad and Kuurne-Brussel-Kuurne. Any other weenies going to be around? Who wants to join us for lunch? Should we bring our bikes? We have a hotel Saturday night in Gent.

Hi Ted,
I won't go this time but am happy you are going there. Don't miss out on spending some time in Ghent as it is one of Belgium finest cities.
About the cycling, I feel the best thing to do is going to Oudenaarde with the car, park near the Ronde Van Vlaanderen museum ( http://www.crvv.be/en/295-home and go cycle one of 3 well-signed routes that are highlighting the best of the Tour of Flanders sections (lot of these roads will also be covered by both races this weekend). You can eat there in the very nice cafe, go to the museum, and there is a free (or cheap at least) shower for cyclists.

Thanks for the info.

We had a nice weekend. Unfortunately the weather was uncooperative. We managed some riding during OHN, but KBK was cancelled which was a big disappointment. We'll be back though...

I will be taking my family to see de Ronde. Planning on setting up our camp at Oude Kwaremont and hoping for good weather. Might be a bit of a challenge with the kids on tow.

Few friends of mine are doing the 140 km sportive, but I will be entertaining by brother in law and few friends in Amsterdam (read, get silly drunk) so will not, under any circumstances, be able to be on a bike, in Oudenaarde, at 7 in the morning, on that Saturday.
