They must be reasonably comfy, almost every team not sponsored by specialized seems to have one of those for a few of their riders.

The new S-Works are leagues better than past iterations. The entire build quality is far higher and they're much more comfortable than the old ones.

One person accuses NeilPryde of copying BMC.
Another retorts that BMC copied GT.
But, really, BMC is 30+ years after GT who in turn were 30+ years after Thanet Silverlight.

As long as you don't expect to fit in the same size as you have had about 20 pairs of over the last 6 years in MTB and road

This is an important point. You have to go one full size up for the same fit. They are also a bit narrower.

I like the look of the newest S-Works shoe but find them painfully uncomfortable (I'm VERY flat-footed). So I'm riding 1 gen older version.

and those are the best looking ones

Agreed. I would definitely buy a pair of all white. The white/color just doesn't do it for me.

+1. Going back to shimano for 2013. Shame Specialized cannot (or rather doesn't want to) offer all white shoes to their regular customers.
