No comment on the low seat stay to seat tube connection? No one was doing but BMC until the Bura did it...

You might wanna take a look at this:

and blame Neil Pryde from stealing their design from someone else than BMC.

Nice bike! It's Jeremiah, the guy you sold the scott to. Thought I'd goof around on WW and I found this. Glad this bike fits you better, and that you're having fun with it. Too bad it wasn't warmer for you. My build is going good. I'm going to try and get more comfortable with this site and post updates on the scott.

Not convinced... I hold to my original opinion..

Not sure what will convince you.
How about pre-BMC, pre-GT?

That's right, kids, the Thanet Silverlight. <- link.

By the way, "kids" - you're probably older than myself, but I guess I know my cycling history?

This pre-dates GT by about 30+ years, pre-dates BMC by 60 years.

Yeah, but you're still not convinced and think that BMC invented the concept?

But getting back on topic: NeilPryde Bura SL = the sex.

haters gonna hate! didn't some of the early bmc frames fail at that whole seatpost juncture type deal? :noidea:
I'll just ride my 11.29lb bmc "clone". Never ridden a real bmc frame so I have no comparison. What do those weigh anyway (being WW and all)?

Not as dramatic as the Silverlight, but earlier.

I'm intrigued by the internal routing. I wonder who did that first.

Just got some new goodies for the bike--

fiberlyte replacement carbon plate for sram red RD. 4g
Extralite Octaramp Chainrings (IN BLACK!) 94g
Extralite Seatpost Clamp 31.8 11g

Have them on this weekend and I'll update w/ pics-- going from the gold to the black chainrings should have quite the visual effect. I'll need to sell the old chainrings!

So here's the latest -- I needed a bit more reach so I picked up zipp sl carbon bars on ebay (and dropped 27g). eebrakes in place of kcnc cb1's, powercordz for brakes and derailleurs and in this pic I have my farsport 38mm clinchers (built up w/ extralite hubs and cx-ray spokes). Depending on the wheelset, the bike weighs in between 11.25 & 11.98 lbs. I've also dropped 8-10 lbs off my body, so you could say climbing has become a rather enjoyable endeavor.

The bike is incredible. It's light, stiff, responsive and handles beautifully. I love riding it - short distances, long distances (just did 106 miles yesterday), it's just awesome.

I'm digging the rawness of this bike! Who wouldn't ride it uphill all day long? 8)
