hand pump after a flat
Moderator: robbosmans
I recently purchased this hand pump, topeak road morph, and it's amazing, has a pressure gauge and and the ability to gain leverage from a built-in foot pad. If you like hand pumps, this is the one:

RussellS & atanger - please go and sit in the corner for a time out. This is weight weenies ~200grms on a pump !!!!
Weight wins over function
Sorry couldn't resist, Seriously though some of those mini pumps are rubbish ... I tried mine and while it did get the tires up to 95psi (which is fine for me with the wider rims) it has a head which screws on to the valve and when I undid it ... it unscrewed the valve core which makes it worse than useless you've got some pliers/spanner with you.

Please be aware of the direction you are pumping.
I never took drugs to improve my performance at any time. I will be willing to stick my finger into a polygraph test if anyone with big media pull wants to take issue. If you buy a signed poster now it will not be tarnished later. --Graeme Obree

CO2 pump brings me up to 8 bar in a second! No more hand pumping to me!
Love it... had a flat 3 days ago... took me 5 mins and back on the road (always carry 2 inner tubes and 2 co2 cartridges as I had to learn the hard way 1 was not enough....)
Another advantage; fits all nice and tight in the saddle back. So no nasty stuff on the frame.

Those using CO2 for training don't ride enough or else their mommies still have their drivers license.
Don't be a jitbag and carry a pump. A QUALITY hand pump will get you to pressure and do it again and again and again.
Query: How many CO2 cartridges fit in a seat bag.
Answer: None, cause a real rider carries a pump, spare tube, patches and a tire boot.

No, a real rider doesn't* carry a spare tube, because a real rider rides tubulars.BobDopolina wrote:Query: How many CO2 cartridges fit in a seat bag.

Yeah. Sure they do.
Let me know how that works out when either home, civilization or a team car is more that 10km away.

I never said a real rider doesn't carry a spare tubular. And it's been working out just fine for me, thank you. It doesn't hurt that I average about 30000 km between flats.

Wow! So you flat once every 2 years.
Shit, I'd ride Unicorn snot with leprechaun sidewalls if that we're possible.

While most of us flat infrequently, the one time that you hit a patch of glass and flat both front and rear simultaneously, you will realize that the only sure way is clinchers, spare tube, patches and a pump. I was just thinking about this the other day since I ride mid morning most of the time when most everybody I know is at work and I was mentally going through my friends thinking about who I could call if I ever needed a lift.
For certain parts stiffer is more important than lighter.

^^^ Exactly. There's dick waving, poseur bullshit or real riding with accessories to match.
Real riders train on alloy clinchers until they ink a deal, then they ride what they are paid to ride.
If that's not your path plan accordingly.
