Hello there

I am putting together my new racing rig built around a BMC SLR01 (50cm)...here are the first couple of things....

integrated handlebar (schmolke tlo bars + oliver grest 13cm stem, bonded)

and for the brakes I opted for the Fibulas...

for this bike, the idea is to have a dependable racing set-up with Campy SRM rather than a pure WW build
...but not pig heavy either ;-)

...more to follow...cheers

Looking forward to seeing your build! Correct me if I'm wrong but are you from DC (or the surrounding area)? The map under your handlebar/stem combo looks very familiar...kind of like the one at CycleLife in Georgetown :)

haha not exactly. It's a cool shop with bunch of cool dudes. I do many of their rides and etc. Once your build is complete you should come out for the saturday rides to test ride it  I'm just putting finishing touches on my SLR01!

Like the progress  You should come out to one of the Saturday morning 9am shop rides for a proper test ride! We are also doing a century ride tomorrow to Mt. Sugarloaf tomorrow at 8am.

Here are a few pics of the complete bike with my training wheels....(sorry abt the crappy pics, but my camera sucks ;-) )

Mostly standard stuff: Campy Super Record + Super Record SRM cranks, SRM PC7, black Nokon Cables, Ksyriums SLRs.

The only WW parts are Schmolke TLO bars & NORA carbon stem 130mm (bonded together with HM carbon), THM Fibula brakes, a couple of Schmolke carbon bolts/ and Tune DC14 skewers.

Total weight incl PC7 head unit is 6.55 kg or 14.5lbs. With LW Millestein (eventually!) and a couple of smaller things (suggestions pls??) it should get a bit lighter..

Frame weight for 50cm was a pig-tastic 960g according to shop, cheers :-)

Or come to the 10AM that leaves from Rock Creek Park. There's also a 7 as well (slightly different route).

I saw that stuff when I was in the shop the other day and was surprised to see such WW stuff in this area.
Don't take me too seriously. The only person that doesn't hate Froome.

only on WW would a Campy SRM be called 'standard'.
This is boss. I love it! Can't wait to see it with LW's.

The ride looks great  Should have asked one of the guys at the shop to throw on the LW wheels from the Venge to see what the total weight would be

You're right about the frame weight being a bit porky. I've seen the previous year models come in at less at size 53. Will have to check mine sometime soon. With the SRM it's still a great weight. See you around at one of the local rides :beerchug:
