Im building a custom Wheelset and want to break out of the latest murdered out trend and add some character. Nothing too crazy but something not all black
I'm considering pewter Chris king r45 hubs. Anyone seen these in person who could comment how well they would match my frame. Thinking it would go well with the grey accent colors on my frame

Think it would look nice if you used the same (subtle) highlight colour in other places too. BB, seatpost clamp, headset if fits.
Hope also has components in "gunmetal" (seatpost clamp etc)
Maybe even combine with Planet X calipers in "gunmetal" for a "metal" look on a carbon bike. Would be quite something.

The Planet X brakes would look great on that frame. I have a set and they match that lettering well. On my 2011 Scott Addict R1 the color looks the same.
Let's finish the ride with a 20% grade.
2011 Scott Addict R1 DA 7900 Matt black
2012 Scott CR1 Pro Ultegra 6700
2015 Specialized SWorks Tarmac Da 9000
2016 Specialized SWorks Tarmac DA 9100

2012 Scott CR1 Pro Ultegra 6700

My frame is matte black and grey accents. My BB is grey and I have the Planet X cnc gunmetal brakes. Also grey cable housings. I think the CK pewter would look nice on this build.
Just a warming as you may already know but anodizing between companies can be very different. The Planet X brakes have a slight greenish tint to them. If you are super OCD it will bother you.

I agree, they look awesome, as good if not better than any wheelset I have seen here.

ENVE on pewter R45's would be hot, especially with the lettering on your frame. Not sure about white spokes though, unless you had white logos like Dov's bike.

Tossing between polished alu and pewter/gunmetal kit for a build myself, thanks for the inspiration, photocycler.
It seems the older SRAM Force colourway (brakes in particular) has a similar tone, but hard to tell from pics. Could anyone who has seen it in person weigh in? (Edit: oh, you mention that above)
PS: Deda used to have a "dark metal polish" finish a few years ago, parts are still floating around.
