Getting a new Evo pretty soon and have some questions for the size guru's...

I'm currently on a XL/58cm Scott Addict with a 110mm Deda Zero100 stem and Deda Newton deep drop handlebars. I run 1 20mm spacer under the stem. Stack should be 400mm and reach should be 589mm.

When I switch to the Evo I'm going to switch to Ritchey classic drop bars so I'll lose some reach off of my bars so I'd go up to a 120mm stem? I'm thinking I'd be a 58cm Evo? Stack and reach are 577mm and 399mm respectively. So I'd need another spacer under the stem to get the same drop? Should I go up to a 60cm? Stack and reach are 596mm and 402mm respectively for the 60cm?

I think they run big. I ride a 58 in most bikes but ride. 56 evo. It's something that might not apply to you but you should keep in mind. Especially since you are thinking about going up to a 60 you may likely stay a 58

Big for sure, I'm 54 or 55 in most brands but with the Evo I'm 52 and very comfortable.

i dunno it's weird because i ride a 50cm caad10 and a 50cm caad10 with the lower headset bearing cap, is shorter stack and shorter reach.... the 52cm evo is probably what i'd ride if i were to buy one. So I think evos run a bit 'small' compared to even their own caad10.

size down on the frame. the evo comes with some 20-25mm dust cap cone thing too.

Yep, stick with the same size or go down a size. Don't size up. I usually ride a 55-56. My EVO (54) feels longer than my Moots Compact Sl (56) and my CAAD10 (54).

I ride a 56 in Cannondale - IIRC, the geometry is pretty much the same for Evo, Caad 9/10, System 6, Super 6....

Last fall, I was looking at getting a Foil, and I was sort of stuck between a 54 and a 56. The TTs on Scotts are a bit longer than Cannondales. The 54 had a good TT length, but the HT was too short. The 56 TT was a bit long for me, though the HT worked.

That said, I am all legs. I have a very short torso. As a result, I need frames with decent size HTs compared to the TTs.

Don't pay attention to the labeled size number: that's basically arbitrary. Focus mostly on stack & reach:

Here are some numbers for you based on this calculator (http://bb2stem.blogspot.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;). I assumed a 13mm headset top cap:

Option #1
58 Evo
120mm, -6 degree stem
30mm spacers under stem

With this setup, you would be within 1mm of you old setup from a stack perspective and the new setup would have ~6mm longer reach, which might then be negated by the shorter reach handlebars that you plan on using.

Option #2
60 Evo
120mm, -6 degree stem
10mm spacers under stem

With this setup, there is about a 1mm stack differential and the new setup would have about 1.5cm more reach than the previous setup. You know the reach difference between your old and new bars?

Option #3
60 Evo
120mm, -8 degree stem
15mm spacers under stem

This one is similar to #2, but you get within 1mm on the stack and you're just a bit over 1.4cm longer on the reach in the new setup.

Option #4
56 Evo
130mm, -6 degree stem
30mm spacers under stem

Even with 30mm of spacers under the stem, the new setup will be ~1.7cm lower in stack than the old setup. The reach of the new setup will be 1.1cm longer than the old setup.

If I were you, I would rule out buying a 56 Evo unless you plan to get much lower in the future. Find out the functional (not necessarily numerical) reach difference between the two bars and go from there. If you were happy with the 58 Addict, I would definitely go for the 58 Evo.

Per Ritcheys website the classic's have an 80mm reach. The newtons are 95mm reach.

Get off of the internet and go to a Cannondale dealer with a fitting stand. Geometry is essentially identical between evos and CAAD10s. Choice of handlebar will not impact what size bike you ride, rather, it will impact the length of stem you run.

Also, if fit is really a big concern for you, then you should be considering more than one frame. There is a large number of light weight frames available with a correspondingly wide range of geometries.
