I recently picked up a 2004 (Horst Link) 5-spot frame with upgraded RP23 boost valve shock. It is size 'small', so I thought I would build my wife (yet) another bike (which she will probably never ride!).

The frame is now at the finishers waiting to be stripped and powder-coated (RAL 6027 which is the original Gulf Racing Blue colour). After that, I have new downtube decals, a new (new style) metal headtube badge and some fresh zerks to go on.

The current spec (with published weights reads as follows):-

5-spot frame with RP23BV shock and all linkages/bushing etc - 2,250g (remember, it is a tiny frame!)
DT Swiss EXM130 QR fork - 1,645g
Hope Pro 3 SP XC3 wheelset (Stans 355 24-spoke SP with 3-bolt rotors) - 1,483g (complete with rim tape) **actual weight
Hope 3-bolt 160 & 185mm rotors - 200g
Schwalbe Ro'Ro 2.25" and RaRa 2.25" EVO folding tyres - 1,000g ** actual weight
Stans valves and sealant - 180g
Lock-On grips - 120g
Superstar 9mm bolt-through QR (front) and 10mm QR (rear) - 190g
Formula RX brake levers & calipers - 550g
FSA Carbon Pro handlebars - 250g
Fizik Arione Dione saddle - 210g
Seatpost collar - 20g
Thomson X4 80mm stem - 150g
Ks i7 Supernatural dropper post with remote (27.2mm) - 609g
2x10 SLX groupset with 38/24 front and 11-36 rear plus XT shadow+ (clutch) rear mech inc cables - 2,173g

total estimated weight (less pedals) - 11,030g (24.3lbs)

for pedals may use the indecently heavy Shimano SPD Trail pedals at circa 455g

i also have a FSA carbon pro 27.2mm seatpost which I could put on to save weight (will save approx 350g) but that would rather defeat the AM focus of the bike.

i will post up pics and actual weights as i start to put it all together.

hope you enjoy!

Your wife is lucky! I built my gf up a mtb around an on-one inbred frame from bits and bobs I had lying around. Somehow it's heavier than my 29er...

Good luck - look forward to the pics!

i really must stay away from CRC... i now appear to have a brand new Fox RP23 Float Kashima-coated shock in the exact right size for the 5-spot, complete with the right reducers and essentially the right level of tune... hmmm... her bike is going to end up nicer than mine!

If you are looking for lighter option on grips, try these http://store.ibiscycles.com/ibis-clamp- ... -p105.aspx" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; they are really comfortable and nice and small in diameter :-)
