Before: 22.36 pounds without pedals (10142g) - Great deal on ebay!!!

After: 20.00 pounds sharp without pedals (9071g)

:shock: :? :noidea: White tires?! I know, I'm not really a fan either but at the same time I thing the only bike suitable with white is the spark...rc world cup...right? top of the line model...and found these for $80/pair brand new on ebay...I like the result :thumbup: :lol: . 435g/445g each one on my scale (Original tires were 606g each.

Gripshift on the left (1x10) and Twinlock on the right. Much less busy cockpit and hassle free operation
Gripshit XX White? yes....plastidip job.

pulley set upgrade-14.5g/pair (original were old 22.5g) and carbon inner cage also upgrade. Original was 10.15g. New 7g

MRP 36T 89.5g on my scale (spider with 26T/39T was 193g)

So FYI: from were the saving is coming from:
From Hutchinson/pair 26x2.15 (606g each) plus tubes (172g each) to Rocket Ron 26x2.10 plus tubeless valve 7g/pair - Total saving: 667.12g

From 2x10 to 1x10 conversion:
XX trigger left came out 96g without cable
XX trigger right came out 92g without cable
matchmackers out:23.60g
XX Gripshit came in: 89.5g without cable
XX front derailleur high mount clamp came out: 118.7
cable plus housing (for rear shift): 31.1g
From Spider 26/39 to MRP 36T: 103.5 less
TOTAL weight saving from drive train conversion:
Total before: 554g
Total after: 179
TOTAL: 375g

just in case you want to upgrade your rear derailleur:
From original inner cage plus orig pulley set to all new: 11.1g less

Chain guide still to come: I will make one myself and will be under 30g all carbon,

TOTAL shave: 1053g (2.32pounds)

Nice project but something looks strange - is the twister shifter on the left hand? looks like it (same side as the front brake).

Yep...this way I can install the Twinlock under the handle bar on the other side. I actually have other reasons, I have 3 missing finger on my right hand and shifting trigger his tricky, now the work goes do my good left hand wish is effortless with gripshift.

Ah ok - cool. Just looks a little odd (compared to the "usally" setup) and your coment about the shifter on the right but you have your reasons :-)

Excellent work!

Can't help but ask why are you running those pedals?

Even a bottom of the range pair of egg beaters is sure to trim -100g off. A pair of SLs about another -20g and if you search out some after market ti axels then another -20g

Aluminium bottle cage bolts? Save about -4g per bolt, so that's -16g

Check the underside of the fizik saddle, some have removable plastic guards and little screws. I've removed three small plastic guards and 7 little screws from an aliante in the past and save almost -25g!

Cut off spare seatpost? Could save about -20g

Like I mentioned above about my missing fingers. I am also an below the knee amputee on my right leg... :D . Thats not the down side, the real down side is; not many models of pedals works with me. I do have a pair of egg beaters, I tried, but is frighteningly impossible to detach my prosthetic foot of the pedal because I don't have ankle rotation. I don't want to go ride scared!
These pedals are old and heavy, but I can take my feet very easy, I don't even need to rotate, I just brake my legs to the side opening my two knees and I'm off!

I don't really now much about pedals: is there any other model that can provide me the same easy detachment?

very good tip on the saddle and bolts, I will check that crapy rear plastic.

Home made chain guide is ready: ok...its not under 30g because I just found a stainless bolt :evil: Aluminum might shave about 8g....will?

Great project. But except light parts, your DT Swiss fork is crying. Stanchions are damaged. Looks like the older owner didn't care it. DT Swiss forks need change lube oil more often than others like Fox or RS.
Check the bushings condition and service it ASAP. It's not very hard even by your own hand, DT Swiss service is very simple.

Also you can shave up to 80g changing pedals so Ritchey Paradigm with no loss of pile of money and performance.

You are 100% correct painless, I like that you pay attention to details. Since I got this bike about 3 weeks ago, The old owner warned me about the suspension, I new I'll need to rebuild. I have been gathering information on how I can do it myself, fortunately I reach out to a service center and they provided to me all the information I need like service guide, list of parts and architecture of this forks....now I'm ready to start including having the leg wipers and foam seals in the mail.

Pedal its not a priority but its in my list. Ritchey V5 might be a good option 255g, have you ever tried? is it easy/safe to remove foot?
