I'm about to go to Florence, Italy, for the next two months- February and March.

Can anyone recommend any regular group rides or training groups?

What about possible races? Too early in the season?

Cant talk about group rides as dont have any friend in the area, but as for racing the season is already started in nearby Liguria.
I suggest you to rent a car otherwise it will be difficult to move around, especially for races.

Around Florence on early February there are some races.
There's a 3 day event from 12 to 14 in Laigueglia and another between 20 and 22th of February and so on.

Calendars are coming out right now so you'd have to patient a little bit more.

Thanks micky. Yes, I'll have my car.

Do you know any good websites for information about races? So far all I've found is the national Federation site. Is there anything better?

The italian federation isnt involved very much with local amateur races; in Italy we have some other amateur sports organizations (actually too many) who organize cycling races as well and so it's difficult sometimes to track down the races if you're not familiar with the area.

I suggest to keep an eye on this topic as many useful calendars will be pubblished there.

Hope it helps!
