Got the frame at the end of this summer and built it up with my nearly-new 6700 build, new set of Schwalbe ZX's, a Thomson Masterpiece, a Selle Italia SLR XC flow saddle, and some older Ksyrium elites.
Some parts will be changing by the time summer arrives; Thomson X2 stem, Thomson Carbon Road bar, new DSP 1.8 tape (black), Blackburn carbon cages (matte white with black on the inside) and a new wheelset (King hubs laced to (probably) Stans 340's with revolution spokes and alu nips, likely black-black-black-black ). .... and the steerer will be chopped again.

Nice, I've got one of those too. Really cool looking frames. Ride well too.

The Thompson/Selle Italia/Ultegra build looks very sleek. Nice build!

I'm going to be building up a new set of wheels for this bike in the spring and was planning to use Chris Kind r45 hubs (front and rear) with DT Swiss revolution spokes and some alloy nips. But I haven't settled on rims yet. I want the wheelset to be light, not more than 1300 grams. I'd like some deeper profile rims, but cant find any that rival the weight of something like Stans Alpha 340's and are clincher compatible. Any suggestions? And any opinions on the benefits of a deeper rim over a light, shallow climbing wheel. (Im a fairly light rider, so weight limits shouldn't be a factor).

IDK how much you weight or how many miles you put in, but 1300g is really light for aluminum clinchers. Haven't enjoyed riding the my light training wheels (Kinlin XR-19). A little flexy, no snap to them.

I'd build up a more practical set and then save up for light carbon tubular race wheels.

And BTW; this frame looks awesome with deep carbon wheels. Here is a photo of mine while it was still built up:

Those do look pretty awesome... I'm actually torn on what to do now. I do need to get new wheels... the current rear wheel is patched up with JB Weld at the moment...

one of the new upgrades. (with chopped steerer at last!)

Better pics with more changes when better weather comes!

Despite its age still one of the nicest frames around. Handles like a charm too!

Personally am a big fan of Thomson/Thomson combo on a classics bike. Got it on my Isaac Sonic, which if it wasn't so darn close to a Damo, I'd probably get one of those...

Thanks, I love the Thomson stuff. Keeps me in touch with my MTB roots, and just a light as a lot of the major competition... just waiting to pick up my Thomson road bar from work and my cockpit will be complete. Very excited!

did some quick work in PS to get a feel for my options. Depending on hubs Ill get a seat collar and king BB to match. Decals on the wheels will be sorted later... have to see how they look first. Might start with all black decals or black with an outline to match the red or gold hubs. New cages too (those are real)... all the carbon!
