Looking at Ribble Cycles and they have the clincher Challenge Open Grifo 33 Cross Tyre listed as well as the Challenge Grifo 32 Cross Tyre. Looking at the specs I can't spot the difference.

So what is the difference other than the word Open and the number?? Also is there any difference between the white tread and the black tread?

Despite their pictures and stats, the "Grifo Pro" that I have seen is only 60tpi and has black sidewalls. This may account for the price variance.

Ahah! Trickery. Cheers for pointing that out to me.
euan, where does this info about grip come from? Is it supposed to be about the rubber or the thread? The Challenge website is very scarce on details.

Crosslore. Just through talk about tyres at races. If you search there are things like this from VN

To be honest just stick with the black

Thanks euan. Yeah, got the black XS on my do-it-all bike (except races), and really liking it.
Surprised about the mention of 34mm Challenge tyres though, not seeing them on the website.
