Thanks! I don't think it compares to the landscape in Switzerland, but I think we have some of the best riding in the US, in fact I've been posting a lot of routes on the blog in an effort to encourage people to come up and ride. The Catskill Mountains aren't very high, but unlike more civilized parts of the US, the roads are laid out without any regard for grade. 22% climbs are quite common out here.

If anyone is visiting New York City and wants to come out for a ride (we're only 1.5 hours north of the city) let me know, I'm happy to serve as a tour guide!

Worth the 112km and 2700m of climbing for a view like this!

Round the island (GC) yesterday and made it back to Maspalomas just before sunset..!

Unusually clear day as we could see the shoreline of Tenerife.

Nice one. I was there a couple of weeks ago and we thought about doing the tour. 200km with 3000+m of climbing made me think otherwise.

After a week of stress at work I was so relieved to be out there today. Only two hours and at the freezing point but I came back home feeling like a different person.

A landmark on many of my rides, near Haren (Noord Brabant) in The Netherlands.

Image

A look into the lovely town of Ravenstein, even prettier inside the gate but I didn't feel like riding the cobbles.

Image

Some random guy in cycling clothes who was standing somewhere along the route. I have no idea who he is

Image

Between Grave and Ravenstein.

Image

Almost home, near the town of Berghem. I thought I miscalculated and would ride in the dark without lights, but then I remembered to take off my sunglasses.

Nope, only the cold and some frozen patches. Hardly any snow up till now but we'll get our share I'm afraid. I'm enjoying this while it lasts.
