New Garmin 810 is pretty weak and the 510 just looks stupid to me. Gory details:

Scroll down to the bottom for pros/cons. Basically though, only compelling thing they bring to the table is the ability to broadcast your ride in real time on Garmin Connect.

I really struggle to see how they're going to be able to police it, after they banned it.

Someone mentioned on Twitter yesterday that the tracking could mean the wife will have breakfast ready in perfect time.

If you just want your wife to know were you are while you're out on a long training ride, there are a number of smart phone apps that do that. Easier to use too.

The live Garmin Connect tracking only seems cool if you're doing some sort of crazy endurance race. Wouldn't even be interesting in a normal bike race unless everyone had it.
