What single piece of new gear you used in 2012 impressed you the most? Does not need to be "new" for 2012, just something you used / bought this past year.

Bont A2 shoes, never have I thought about my feet less. They have been incredibly comfortable and amazingly stiff beyond any other shoes I have tried. I have ridden Spec S Works and Giro Factor and hands down the Bont's feel just so secure and stable it's amazing.

Only bad thing is they have me wanting a pair of Vaypors now  specifically the track lace up version
Looks like I made a new 90 Proof friend

Not that much new impressed me, so probably the Ritchey EvoCurve Carbon bar. Also have the alu version and the carbon bar, though not really WW, soaks up a noticeable amount of road noise.

Shimano DA 7800 groupset.

after 7900, Sram Force and 11sp Athena and Chorus, it still impresses me with ... everything. i'm sure i won't change it untill it's completely worn off and Shimano's out of spare parts..

RWD mount for Garmin. Very impressed.
Praxis Chainrings. Very impressed.
SRAM Exogram Cranks (Red 2013). Competitively light with the boutique offerings, very affordable, very stiff.
Farsports Carbon Wheels. Very impressed for the price. Possibly surprise of the year, personally.
Ortlieb AirFlex 11. Spectacular.
Saucony Hattori. The best (non-trail) running/cross training shoes I've ever owned.
Peet's Coffee: Uzuri African Blend. The best "buy anywhere" bag of coffee I've bought in 2012.
WaterRower. Get one.

Garmin Edge 800 - love all the information, love the navigation and love the display that I can keep on for my night rides

Castelli Fedele Jersey. They're great for the crap weather we get in the UK.
KMC X11SL + ChainL lube. Amazing combo.

Not sure if the bike itself counts as gear, but the Wilier Zero.7 - I didn't know road bikes could be this fast or this much fun to ride.

Single best thing I've put on the bike, Look Keo Blades, ridiculously wide and secure underfoot. I don't think I really buy into the increased power transfer argument for big pedals, but the size definitely make a difference in how comfortable and stable they are, particularly going hard out of the saddle.

Single best thing I've put on me, Castelli Gabba jersey. Feels like a jersey, protects like a jacket. What more could you ask for?

- my RWD garmin mounts : they make the following of a track much easier and safer. I like the look of a "nude" stem better. And let's not forget that Martyn is a wonderful guy to deal with.

- Craft Elite range. These guys know how to make sport garments. I used to be an italo-garments die-hard fan (assos, castelli, giordana) but I think I've found the perfect clothes for my body. And thanks for making XS jerseys/jackets. I like to have my cycling garments slim fitting. It's cycling after all, not gangsta rap.

- Zaino Z2 (sealant) + DodoJuice Supernatural (wax) . My bike has to shine.
