Kabuto helmets for team Budget Forklift

nice, 'cause specy helmets and cervelo frames sounded odd to me

a lot of pros run narrower bars now than you'd think. Millar has run 3T 40s (38s at the hoods) for years, but quite a few Garmin dudes that are taller run 3T 42s (40 at the hoods). Most pro bike fit articles never actually measure the bars at the hoods and many brands including 3T, Zipp, FSA, and Easton taper 2cm and are measured at the widest point.

Anecdotally, and I am the farthest thing from pro around, but I've always ridden 42cm until my recent build, where I went 40cm. I much prefer the narrower bars.

I thought this was cool. Via CyclingTips facebook:

"I haven't confirmed this, but a friend of mine tells me the story goes like this:

"I was just down at my local bike shop, TrailHead, here in Anglesea (aka The Swamp). It is quite a small LBS [local bike shop], mainly for off roaders and those on the dark side
Having a chat to Ari, who runs the shop, and he said, 'look at this' and showed me a couple of photos on his computer.
None other than Cadel Evans, the Cadel Evans no less, this Christmas Eve, he'd dropped in to get a new tire having shredded his old one. Anyway Ari has Cadel's bike (a Baum naturally) on stand fixing things when two riders rocked in with tires that needed to be pumped up on their bikes (!!!!).
Ari went to attend and Cadel said, 'don't worry, you keep working on my bike, I'll pump them up.
And he did, see photo.
How many cyclists would there be in Anglesea that have personally had their bikes attended to by a Tour de France winner?"

Cadel in assos gear by the look of it, what a great tale to tell in the shop though...

that's a great story...

baum and assos, versus pinarello and rapha. and a tour the france winner pumping up an everyday life bike. It just can't get better.

Surprised Cadel isn't on a BMC and in BMC kit, after all he hasn't retired has he?

Cadel travelling incognito, I suppose.

The Bardiani-CSF kit matches the tires.
Bianchi-Campagnolo
The Specialissima
Gylne Gutuer, the UCI 1.2 bike race I invented.

It begs the question if he can handle pumping up some tyres why can't he fix his own bike? :)

Only joking, great story!

Are the pros who ride incognito in the off-season not in breach of sponsorship deals or do these only usually apply to racing? For example, we could quite legitimately look at the pic and think ooh er them BMC's can't be too hot if it isn't Cadel's preferred bike in the down time

Only if I was interested in winning

And yep, Cadel in Assos kit all summer (well, at least as long as he was here). And was on his Baum fixie that day.

odd enough
isn't the Sky 2013 Kit vaguely similar to the 2012 Chinese "replica" bar side band and white font? :)
