Hi,

I'm looking for a tubular wheel set 26 with a good value for money in the range 1100-1200gr

Does anybody know a good source ? I don't mind if it's Chinese/Taiwan etc.

Thanks

These may not fall into the 1100-1200g range (they won't) but Geax do allot tubular rims in 32H drilling. They are cheap to.

Take a look at R2 Bike's website

If your looking to get by on a budget, go with an alloy rim. In the lower price range, they will yield much better durability and consistency. I have read too many horror stories on RBR about Chinese carbon rims failing within the first or second season, and then the warranty not being fulfilled.

As much as the road guys hack on Tufo, I have been impressed by them. Very durable (which is high on the list for a road hack like me) and the DT hubs are pretty good, too. I think they are fairly inexpensive.

I have a good experience with Chinese rims. I bought from a local wheel builder a road wheel set for 750eu (953 gr) with Chinese rims
I used those wheels for cyclocross, they rock and I couldn't be happier (so far after 18 races and a few trainings)

Besides the LBS deals only with race stuff, he is willing to build a mtb wheel set for me. I might be able to get a tubula mtb wheel set around 1000gr for about 800 eu. So I'm going for it since I do not want to waste money for branded stuff like AX-Lightness, ENVE etc.

Disagree that Enve is a waste of money. The 5 year warranty program and lifetime crash replacement program speaks for itself.
