Any close ups of the paint on the Pegoretti?

Is it me, or is that Pegoretti huge compared to the frame size and seat height of the Cinelli?

Thanks, must be the difference between a headtube with classic headset and stem vs. headtube with aheadset and stem that plays tricks on me. Lovely Pegoretti, except for the head tube - top tube junction. I cannot get used to that construction which is, in my opinion, not very pleasing optically. But definitely looking forward to the complete build!

Tell us more about the guitars and is that a Two Rock amp?

Also, whats the thinking behind Pegoretti stack height, obviously it seems to be a signature design trait (seen some Parlees with similar though) is it just to avoid spacer towers?

That is Pegoretti's way of achieving the desired stack while maintaining a level top tube. It does indeed look a bit off but it us not too bad (I have a Soma Smoothie with a similar head tube / top tube arrangement).

In the 80s and 90s it was quite common for Italian frame sets to have that configuration.

I have a spacer (10mm) on there now so thats not helping. Gonna play around a bit but might end up trimming (no spacer).

I like the Freuler look on the Pegoretti's, doesn't help with the "slam your stem" types though...

Colnago does the Freuler style (headtube finishing above the top tube) on large frames. Pegoretti does it so that the steerer tube is supported by metal rather than relying on spacers. You can trim the head tube if you want the stem to be lower. My Responsorium has no spacers and I've been considering getting my LBS to trim the headset.
