Flippin bloomin freezing out there. It was about -4/-5, I realise that is not as cold as some WW get but here in North Yorkshire thats bloody cold!! Roads that had been salted were fine, but this was only the main roads, the untreated country roads were covered in frost and black ice so needed to be ridden with caution. Here I feel being on fixed wheel helped tremendously.

Deep down in hell there is a reserved place for everyone who posts sunny pictures while most of the world is burried under a feet or two of snow. /Sarcasm/

Makoy - if you're reading this - are you ok? Your family? Your community? How did you fair in the typhoon? Well I hope.
Your pictures are missed, but mostly I'm hoping you're alive and doing well.

Holy f***, I'm envious.
Damn, they're saying almost 1,000 dead and 80,000 homeless.

I was very literally on the road today. Out on the clubrun, chilly morning but not obviously dangerous, until in a slight dip approaching a right-hander I began to get alarmed about the way the rear wheel was feeling. I slowed down approaching the bend and was dismayed but not surprised to see two guys go down together. I tried to roll to a stop but a second later I too was sliding along the tarmac. It was low speed, I guess I was sliding because it was so icy. No real damage done, slight graze on hip. Photo shows us thinking about what to do next since that lane was now unattractive. We took to busier but ice-free main roads. With low sun and wet roads the rest of the ride was hard on the eyes.

...getting worried about Makoy.
Am I the only one with concern here (along with jmilliron)?

You are not the only one concerned about Makoy! How can we get word from him? Obviously if he is fine WW isn't a priority for him. I for one offer prayers for his safety.

Catskills. Next week I'm going to get around to writing up routes on my blog, but for now.
Not something you want to see with glaze ice on the road.
My winter bike. Just got it; need to cut the steer tube, get a longer stem. And...I just ordered some spike tires.
