Anyone had any experiance with these, fancy a pair for mainly training and the odd race.

Also quite intrested to hear of any alteratives at a similar price/quality.

Had/got a pair of 4ZA cirrus at the moment but they are now dead due to a crash.

The D3 clinchers test really well for aerodynamics and are fast wheels. They are great wheels but I would not use them daily if you are pushing 200lbs+. If you train in the rain or on bad roads I would seriously consider a nice custom built aluminum set for that. There are a lot of nice options for wide semi aero clinchers now.

There are a lot of options that claim "semi aero" but unless you're talking about the full shape similar to Zipp's Firecrest (or the several Knock off's of that shape), the Aero very simply isnt there.

The Bontragers are nice wheels. Zipps version are similar Aero and have a far better Braking surface that virtually everything else in Carbon and good enough that the diffs versus Aluminum are pretty small.
