My rear TRP 960 brake has bound up twice with almost no movement till I soak it in lube and then it comes back about two weeks later. Is the brake shot or can something be done. Its only two years old. :noidea:

Sounds like it's time for a rebuild.

I struggled with the same issue on two different pairs after about a year of use. I rebuilt one set and it worked for awhile only to have the same lackluster performance about 3 months later. I eventually abandoned both sets. The 970sl and 970EQs I have do not give me this same problem......at least so far.

Back the centre bearing off a bit.....surely it is that simple??

I tried that on both pairs of my 960s it didnt fix mine. There was some corrosion on the one I took apart.

I took it too the shop the first time because it was completely locked up and the mechanic managed to free it up but after telling me I might need a replacement. If that's so according to everybody here is this something that only trp can do or can I get the bushings myself and do this.

If you find a permanent fix for the problem let me know, I know I have at least one of the pairs around somewhere.

I'd take it apart, clean it out and re-grease it. I've rebuilt a number of sticky Shimano calipers. They work much better afterwards.

I did a complete rebuild on one of mine, it only worked better for about 3 months, then a complete seize again
