Just wondering if anyone has tried this combination. I am running 2012 Red and i have a nearly new KMC X11SL chain lying around somewhere. I won't bother looking for it if someone has tried it with the new Red and the front shifting wasn't good.

i too would like to know this answer, i called KMC about this very same thing like two months ago and they had said that the chain is thinner than the x10 and that the shifting was not going to be the same and they recommended that i did not do it. So i havent but i would love to know if someone has.

I am running the x10sl with my 2012 sram red.
Works way better than what came with my Cannondale EVO. Nice crisp shifts and of course is lighter. I was unaware of a x11sl, I will have to take a peek at it

Did a little looking around. It appears that the x11 is for Camy and the x10 is for Shimano/Sram.

No, the x10 is for 10 speed, x11 for 11 speed. I'm guessing the OP would like to use the x11 since it's a little lighter (narrower). I have no experience to add with the x11 though

I have run the X11SL on old red, but the spacing is different now on the front rings. I may just look for it anyway and give it a go once I feel better and this NJ weather clears up.
