My this forum's very tame in it's meet ups. A while back I was a member of a cycling forum where 20-50% of the regulars on there had been 'involved' with another member at some time (from little more than casual friendship to sexual to one couple who got married)!
Dimples: Laminar flow separates more easily from a surface than turbulent air. Delayed separation reduces drag. A groove perpendicular to the flow triggers laminar to turbulent conversion. A spinning object uses dimples so an edge always faces the flow.

Jever98 and I talk almost on the daily despite that hes a tri geek and I'm a roadie snob.

It doesn't surprise me that lots of cyclists can find things in common:

-We all enjoy the outdoors.
-We all value fitness and health to one degree or another.
-If you're on the internet looking for info on a forum, you're probably somewhat of a bike nerd.
-Most people ride not just for the scenery, but the challenge it presents as well. This mindset crosses boundaries across many sports and walks of life.
Don't take me too seriously. The only person that doesn't hate Froome.

Would it be silly to propose an AusWeenie meet up at the Tour Down Under?

Not at all, I met (and was welcomed along to ride with) OzRider at the Tour in 2011.

Have also met Dalai, hotshot and lovej numerous times, top blokes all of them.

And Agent86 is, well before the 2nd bub came along, my riding buddy a lot of the time.

I feel kind of humbled by Xnavalav8r and Wingnut's kind words.

They are both good mates who I will already have and will continue to enjoy spending time with over the years no matter where we all are in the world.

It's been great to meet people through this forum and would love to try and catch up with anyone living in the low country of South Carolina as cyclists are VERY thin on the ground where I live.

As an aside, I was home briefly a week or so ago and managed to get a rare ride in with Wingnut which was good escaping the USA's winter for Australia's summer.

If we can plan a Dutch WW gathering, I'm in. Somewhere around Utrecht would make it superb.

I'm here on strava: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=110003

I'm in on a Dutch WW meeting. I would vote for a nice trip in the area of Utrecht.
I've organised some trips, and have a nice trip from Nijmegen --> Arnhem (Posbank) and back.
Keep your thoughts comming, to realise this :0

Met a couple of the long time WW members over the years at the trade shows. Namely Madcow, LJ, Jeffr, Nils and a few others at Interbike and Taipei in person and some of my local lads. All wonderfully nice blokes.

Think it would be easier if it was revolved around some major race or some major trade show like Eurobike.

Its the 100th edition of the Tour de France, it would be a very special year. I was at the Centenary Year back in '03 and it was a spectacle at every race town and city. So, perhaps the scope would be wider ?

I'm sure we can arrange a carpool for you.

Shall we plan it for this year still?
