Want to spend 300 Euro for a saddle?
Here is the new cutout saddle from ax-lightness.
May be the lightest commercial available cutout saddle with advertised 76gr?

Yes heavy, my Ax phoenix 1000 is 55g and beautifully comfortable. A fabulous bit of kit. Ax at their best.

Yeah I'd expect this to be lighter than 75g... The Endurance/Apollo/Sprint are at that weight.

Still - looks nice, but my barse is cringing.

Cutout adds a lot of weight.

It does look more comfortable than the ax1000 though looks can be deceiving. I find my ax1000 every bit as comfortable as the Selle Italia SLR on my second bike.

Is comfort the point of the leaf?

Hi,

Sounds paradoxical but true.

I do like the way it is designed though. The convex bridge at the rear allows for a good degree of flex form the wings which is all too often lacking in most other offerings.

Yes. It obviously also keeps the wings from flexing too far down.

There's also the Engage version which is both cheaper, heavier and padded.

The saddle is not without reminding the original Selle Italia C64 Tekno when viewed from aside.

Ciao, ;)

I agree that with light carbon saddles the cut-out shouldn't be necessary. My Becker flexes easily: it's very comfortable in addition to being super-light. The only reason I don't use it all the time is because I don't want to break it.

Exactly because the edges around the cutout hole plus further back of the cutout in the center of the shell below the saddle surface have some ridges of carbon which have to designed this way to prevent the saddle from flexing too much and cracking at its weakest point,i.E. the cutout.

Exactly my point - pocket means wallet, i.e. where you carry it meaning it costs a lot?! Although i see in terms of a weight side of things it would actually lighten your wallet. :D

Nice to see a wider design at 140mm, but at that price i will stick to my Merek SQ1 for $100 @ 107grams.

Beauty.

So on saddles light that there is no padding at all? Are you sitting on straight up hard carbon and relying on your jutt on chamois for padding?
