Nice ride. Tell us more - what is the weight?

Hello,
thanks for asking. concerning the weight: i only can guess: my 2007-sonic-build (i already showed it in this forum ca 2 years ago: sram red, tune/reynolds wheelset. tune speedneedle saddle) was 6,08 kg, with computer and pedals.
this one is much heavier:
the frame is 47 gramm heavier.
wheelset ca 800 gramm (powertap!)
saddle ca 50 gramm
additional weight of dura ace- shifters, -derailleurs, -brakes? 300 gramm?
all in all i guess it weighs 7,2-7,3 kg (16lbs). not a weenie, but although not to bad. particularly with regard to the uci-weight-limit of 6.8 kg. i have to consider this in some of the races i participate (senior 2-amateur).

Nice, very clean, fast looking bike, well done, seat post looks a bit angular for that frame to me, not that my opinion really matters though. Cheers.

thanks.

i love the Thomson-parts, especially the setback-post. :)
but if i am going to get the frame painted in matt-black, they won`t match anymore, so i might have to think about something else. or paint the thomson-parts in mattblack as well.

best regards,

why not use the original blue Isaac seatpost? it's pretty light, and can easily be tuned with a Ti bolt for the clamping.

Oh, I think you will kick yourself later for removing that blue hued gloss you have on that frame now. I would even go back to the original fork and look for weight savings elsewhere. The matte thing is kinda "yawn", so 2011... The blue is different and not often seen. My 2 cents...

I agree, keep the blue paint, it's totally unique.
I would rather like to see some more black parts, like front and rear der. And brakes.
Make the frame the crown juvel of you build (and black out all other parts) it's worth it .
And please remove the Big 3t logo on the fork.
I really like this bike, a lot.
I think you hit the geometry spot on, and i would love to see it with some high profile rims.
Please dont paint :D

hello everybody,

thanks a lot for your comments. :)

i know, matt-black is "en vogue" at the moment, but this is not important for me.
the idea for repainting it black (or nature-carbon) came from the black-eloxated principia ellipse, i have been riding for several years.

@simon: my problem with the isaac-post: the rough adjustability: i dont get the saddle positioned

+1 for keeping its original colour, it's simply gorgeous and unique. I can tell from first hand because I just bought one  I like black bikes as well, but a blue LTD would be just about the last to sacrifice for that purpose. Because I like original, I'm not a big fan of the extra Isaac logos on headtube and seattube either.

if the frame should be repainted, only one logo will remain, but nearly invisible.
