Possible to dye cycling clothes?

Long story short, I need to get rid of some team affiliation on my cycling kits, and would rather just dye them if at all possible since I have a lot of them (almost all my cycling clothes). Buying 7 new kits would be a bit $$$ so dying would be perfect. Anyone know if this can be done?

i looked into how to do it once, didn't in the end as it wasn't clear if it was going to work, and the simplest option i found used very hot water which would probably mess up the clothes:

dylon "multi-purpose" is claimed to do lycra, you can get it in small quantities but this link is to the big can, the instructions involve simmering for 20 minutes!

the instructions also say it's not colourfast, so it may not be dense enough to mask the previous colours

i think there are industrial dyes that work at lower temperatures, maybe around hand-hot which should be ok, but from memory some were toxic, and again it was unclear how successful they'd be

I think that you sweat too much and cycling gear needs to be laundered. It would be messy.

polyester needs to be ink dyed to be colorfast (if I recall correctly)... and that's not a diy process. There's not a whole lot you can do in this instance without it looking hokey... but then again, I'm all for experimentation so have a go and see what you get.
