Hi everyone,

I just bought a brand new Time RXR Ulteam red 2010 (I must be at 27 the youngest non-pro human being who can say that :D ) and I've some trouble figuring out something.

The 2010 model, at least very few of them to my understanding, came with no seatclamp but only a wedge bolt that you need to drill the front of the seat tube to install.

My question is the following:

Is that bolt is safe to use alone or I'd be better with a seatclamp and why did Time reverted to the collar a year later? Crack? Damage?

Many Thanks

hello,
TIME went to a collar because the bolt could lead to cracks.
So I would recommend to use a collar, it will be more safe.
Nice ride

Many Thanks! I'll then try to buy a new collar from somewhere.

I can wait to ride it!

One last tought.

Should I ask for a free one? Since the bike is brand new and I'm not so happy about paying again. I've bought a brand new frame that I can't use because of a engineering problem.

Thanks

IMHO, if you purchased the frameset from an official TIME dealer, you can try requesting for the clamp.

Although no harm trying, sending an email to TIME France won't do any help, TIME has great products but not so great customer service, unfortunately.

Cheers!

It's the collar. But they're not selling it as itself...

It's not stolen. I work for the previous canadian Time distributor, before we moved to Look.

I bought it new from the box. And it's not a counterfeit.

If that was the question.

I'll post a pic later today.
