I'll third the recommendation of HandleBra.

I can attest to the qualities of Fizik Microtex, but I'm wondering which thin soft tape might be good beneath it, for use with Double Wrap(tm) technology. Fizik's durability and cleanability with some more damping would be nice.

Fizik tape nothing else comes close if you want white. Lizard skin gets dirty real fast.

I like the lizard skins tape. I use black. Can't stand white anymore. I've never had white bar tape last more than a week without getting something on it. Drives me nuts.

i've come to conclude that if your bar tape is white white
* you either just installed it
* you never ride your bike
* you are a pro and your mechanic changes tape for you every race.

A friend of mine has had the Specialized S-Wrap Classic Tape for a while now and it has stayed white better than the Fizik stuff did in the past. It is extremely thick though. :?

LOL that Fizik staying white is stated as a positive for racing by one of the earlier posts. Why?

Grippiness is far more important for when you're battering through the rain over speed humps in the road etc ...

On that front Lizard Skins kicks Fizik's ar5e IME.

But yes, Fizik is the best for staying white. Best cafe tape.

Lizard Skins DPS tape is very good. It is a bit of a hassle to clean it, but with some alcohol 70%/90% it works out fine, if you are patient. :-)

As much as I hate to admit it, I have to agree. My bike seems to look horrible with black tape, but ive had white tape only last a couple of weeks before it looks shocking. Cleaning it never seems to come up very white, always dirty. On the plus side i got pretty good at wrapping bars, changing tape every few weeks ha  So far Lizard skin DSP in white, and the cheap standard Deda stuff has been pretty bad in terms of getting dirty quickly.

Combination of road grime and just dirt from my hands seems to be the main issue. When not wearing gloves ive even deliberately scrubbed my hands before a ride!!
