We had to exploit good weather as it is about to change on Friday. Still around 8-12 oC and pretty sunny. In the background far away you can see "Tenczyn" Castle which was burnt and destroyed by Swedish army in 17th century. Only one bike in the picture as the other two were used as a tripod
18' R5 coming soon...

Day off from work (LoL!) so decided to make the most of it. Decided I wanted to go to Pocklington as it was a headwind out and tailwind (kinda!) home. The little loop on the end is because I didnt wanna go home with 55 mile on the clock, wanted a nice round 60! Longest ride I done in a long time and all on 69" fixed.

Came off the old railway to head towards Crockey Hill (Howden Lane) and found this!!
Access denied!!
So, turned around to head back in to Naburn and found........
This!! Access Denied Again!! Had to head back up onto the railway line and come off at Fulford then head back down the A19 to Crockey Hill.
Flooding at Elvington which closed the bridge over the River Derwent. Luckily I could get through on the pavement with only wet feet!
Memorial in Elvington village to the French personnel who served at R.A.F. Elvington during WW2.

Those conditions look rather familiar Deus...
Our group ride tonight was thwarted by similar conditions, only with a couple of random, abandoned cars hiding in the water for good measure!
Unfortunately couldn't take pictures on account of it being night - Blackberries don't really lend themselves to capturing that sort of scene in the dark.
