Long time lurker and finally thought i would post one of my bikes - possibly my heaviest but certainly not run of the mill! Got this 4 years ago and travel A LOT with it. Finally got my position dialled and love the ride. Not a real weight weenie by any stretch but it is built to take a beating.... which it does get!

Ridiculously cool travel bike. Bravo.
Larger pics available?
Looks like an astute spec for a bike that might see some remote places.

Classy!

Nice too see a Baum with same attention to details but with an inch of understatement.

The DA 7800, the bars and the perfect fit makes for a racy travel bike.

Thanks very much guys. Yes it is a pretty robust set up, I fly on average every fortnight and build and strip it about 30 times a year - the Baum frame was a bit of an investment for something that travels in the cargo hold of airliners but the Columbus Spirit tubing is solid, light and has a great feel to it. Darren Baum was great to work with and created a modern classic!

I used an old 7800 group set off my 2005 Madone and had some Mavic open pro wheels I could use as well. With Conti 25mm Gatorskins it can cope with exploring lots of different roads in all weathers - from European winters to the tropics, bike trails and fast bunch rides.

Now with a cockpit setup I have been adjusting over the 4 years, I feel I have really hit a sweet spot with it and it has reached definite favourite status in my collection.

Bike looks great! I agree with the comment above about having a bit of that understated look. The classic Baum paint schemes and decals look so much nicer than that GTR stuff they do.

Damn! How cool do those levers look 8) No wonder 7800 levers are so expensive used, they look super sweet now everything else has gone to carbon fibre.
Ti or dye!
