I must say I'm really enjoying this years series of Behind The Barriers. The US pro CX scene seems really friendly, but yet still quite grass roots compared to the European pro circuit. Everyone on the Euro circuit look really grumpy like they hate each other

That would be due to the stress and massive weight of expectation from fans, managers, sponsors etc especially if you are a Belgian i.e.

Yes, that's a cyclocross feature second just behind soccer and ahead of all the other sports reports...
Belgian daily papers will have a couple of pages dedicated to the previous days cross racing.
You really need to visit Belgium to see just how fanatical they are.

Pretty dominant at the moment, especially this past weekend, but he's had a couple of forgettable races with mechanicals (chain) and crashes too. It only takes ill health or bad luck and...
Good to see Bart Wellens smiling face back on the podium too.
Bart was even smiling this Summer climbing the Mortirolo. Good pal cheering me back
New Swiss team IAM to ride Scott bikes
Would be hilarious to see Exergy riding aboard Wiliers with microshift.

Hilarious? I suppose.
Proving a point? Definitely.
Their drivetrain choice has not hurt them in 2012.
Their results (both men and women) were strong enough to appeal to Wilier's marketing eyes.
Now, will they still have Microshift in 2013? We'll just wait and see.

That said, will be cool to see Vanderkitten on Wilier. They're a local-ish team.

From the 3 Exergy riders I talked to failed Microshift components was pretty rampant and they often had a number of mishaps with their equipment. A lot of them rode painted 7800 on their training bikes to avoid having to use it and there are pictures somewhere of domestic races with some of them on it as well.
