Hi All,

I am looking for procedure or tips on how to install new carbon fibre blades (springs) on Look KEO blade. Is there a trick to do it or do I have to muscle it in with my fingers?

There's a special tool to do it that some bike shops have. It's expensive to buy so best get them to do it.

Unscrew the hinge of the rear door and pull it out. The blade just falls off then. Install in reverse. I've never seen the tool, only heard about one, but have swapped many blades.

If you don't mind the slight derailment, can I ask why you're replacing? Did a previous blade break? (If so, how?)

Yes it broke. I was crossing busy intersection (from red light) and when I tried to clip in I put my foot on the other side of the pedal and pressed with full force to get of the intersection ASAP (big pick up truck was coming my way) and my foot slipped of the pedal. When I got home I noticed that blade was delaminated and one of the layers was cracked. I think when I stomped on it with my shoe it bent the other way and it cracked.

I wonder if that's how some of the other breakages have occurred without people realising what they've done.
