Hi,

I ridde on my R3SL since 2008 and I would like to know if it is worth to change to the R5 model?

For the Bbright, the new Shimano Dura Ace 9000 crankset is adaptable but if I choose Sram Red 2013, the BB30 or gpx model?

Thank You.

Naturel,

As for "to get" the R5, there is no straight answer. The fit is different, the head tube is stiffer and taller, carbon dropouts, the bottom bracket is stiffer. It is a very very good bike, is it "better" than the R3sl, I don't know, I think any of the top of the line bikes are very close to each other and it is down to personal preference. I ridden both and an Eddy Merckx mxl Leader for many years and there are differences but I would hard press to say one is "better" than another. I hate change so I would stay with with the R3sl, but if you like to mix it up and $ isn't an issue then go for it!! If you do go R5 I would commit to the BBright and get the Rotor crank.

C

Only if you can get the R5 at a serious discount, otherwise the R3 far better value for money

After 5 years on R3SL, I think only for a R5 model.
