Firefly is my 1st and only custom bike. I've known the frame designer for some time and trust him.

ooo - that's a big bike! Beautiful, bit jealous you presumably got to go in and pick it up from the guys.

I'd say welcome to the club but you technically were in the club before me :O)

Indeed, I actually got to ride it home from the shop in Boston. It was great getting to work closely with them on it.

Coool bike. Big fan of Firefly. What's up with the Mavic wheels though? You would think a frame like this would deserve some better wheels right?..

It surely does. That was a sacrifice made for budget. I hope to upgrade in the near future, possibly something handbuilt by Luxe: http://luxewheelworks.tumblr.com/

Judging by the crank you've used a PF30 bottom bracket. Can I ask which one? Did Firefly recommend are particular model?

Good eye, it's the standard SRAM PF30 BB (not the BlackBox Ceramic version). And yes, that was the suggestion from FF.

I think an easy improvement would be to peel off the stickers if you're going to keep the wheels. Otherwise an upgrade is the right move.

You ever want to sell that bike let me know - it's my size!!!!!

OK, one note of I'm gonna be picky - the groupset and wheels!!! For such a great bike it's a dull group set and the wheels are great training wheels and good winter wheels, but they aren't gonna bring out how nice that frame rides.

Yea, Luxe is cool, but it's also a premium and for no reason. I just had a pair of ambrosio rims laced up to record hubs and had a local do it - who also was head mechanic of the US team circa 96 to 98 - his price was like 50% less and I can bring it to him for a free tru for the next year. Just food for thought, but love the frame!!!

Agreed on wheels but groupset? I've actually been really pleased with Force. Cockpit and wheels will definitely be upgraded well before grouppo.
