Which headset spacers will fit the R5? because its 1-3/8" fork
It's tapered steerer tube. Bottom 1 3/8", top standard 1 1/8", so that gives you a pretty good choice of spacers

That crank you're describing is their S900/950/975 or derivative. It is not a "pure" bb30, it is bb30 compatible with its 30mm spindle. Those cranks mentioned have about 90mm of spindle between the arms, as opposed to 69-70mm. Sram red, New red, force (with built-in, non-removable spiders) will not fit bbright.

According to Damon Ricard, new Red should work on BBright

Look closer. That "red" crank is the quarq variant, with separate spider. Arms may be updated, but otherwise, that crank is a direct descendant of the S900 series. Completely different animal.

+1...unless you are willing to spend over $2K for the Quark variant (the only Sram 2012/13 BB30 crank compatible with BBRight), you will not have a Red crank on your R5

I find it interesting that the R5 VWD frames made in 2011 were approximately 50 grams lighter than R5 VWD frames made in 2012. I am not sure exactly when they gained weight but they gained a noticeable amount of weight. My guess is that it happened sometime in the later part of 2011. I think the same thing happened with the R3. The R5 VWD frames are still fantastic frames and are still a competitive weight considering the competition. But they don't make them like they use to.

All frames in size 51cm

2010 R3 SL about 850 grams
2011 R5 about 820 grams
Made in 2011 R5 VWD about 725 grams
Made in 2012 R5 VWD about 770 grams
R5ca about 700 grams without bearings

Based on that table of weights the suckers (including me) that bought R5s before the VWD models came out didn't do so badly after all. Only 50g difference compared to the 2012 models and you got a Rotor crank thrown in.

2011 R5 vwd? Isn't the vwd notation new for 2012?

Vwd frames, like any other, vary in weight. I seem to remember a recent 51cm one weigh 705g, and an r5ca at the same time be either 660 or 640, can't remember exactly.
I guess I have some weighing, photographing to do in the next couple days...
