Pretty much.

And knowing that road and Alex, he was probably behind the bike

I find the whole "KOM " and ranking thing completely dispiritng here- the top 10 times for the climb out of my house are all pros doing threshold reps over spring - and some of the times for Sa Calobra, a cat 1 climb 15 minutes away from me are just funny- 25 minutes for 10kms climb with ave 8% gradient- wft??

Yeah that would blow.

But you can filter by age, weight, etc. That might help you feel a little better?

Tinea,
At least he dropped his riding buddies.

For your solo time, hats off.

I didn't even know it was a segment until afterwards, I was smacking it out on my TT bike.

People make new segments around here all the time. I took up Strava in 2010, there were maybe half a dozen in total for the region. Now there's dozens on each ride :unbelievable:

Brilliant! Phone should come with a mini-centrifuge accessory. Prick finger, place against capillary tubes on accessory, whirr-whirr..... > 50% and activity is tagged.

New field in Strava data: "HCT%".

That's a VAM of 1920. See my preceding post.

It's not as dramatic - http://app.strava.com/segments/653262, but yeah, getting a KOM in Mallorca is pretty much impossible for Joe Average. :beerchug:

Here's a good one...

I took a KOM the other day that another guy had for a while. Must've hit a nerve because he beat it the other day by 27 seconds. Sure enough it looks very suspect in that the 'ride' is cropped around just the segment and he's averaging 630W and 16mph for the final bit at 11%. However I went out yesterday and beat him on the segment by 2 seconds legitimately... he's going to be pissed off on that one.

CarpetFibre thats hilarious! He set out on a 3.5km ride just to get the KOM back, and then you snatch it straight away again just like stealing candy from a child. Its a cruel world we live in!

Im thinking if its a 3,5km ride why not just tape my phone to the back of a cat, point it up the road and stick a firecracker up its A***E?
