Time iClic Click
Moderator: robbosmans
I have had a repetetive click coming from my pedals - at least that is what I am leaning towards. It's at the same point of the pedal stroke and with some elimination seems to be coming from my left pedal. I replaced the cleats thinking that might have been the problem. It didn't solve it but the sound level seems to have diminished a little which leads me to believe that with a new cleat the click might be coming from the fibre spring.
Has anyone else had a similar problem with iClics? And if so what was the fix?

I know exactly what you mean. My iClics v.1 when used with the original cleats did not click. They have only clicked with the v.2 cleats. I haven't been able to solve it. The Time iClic system is clearly defective. Nuff said.
Maybe an email to Mr Time.....

Try riding the bike uphill wearing trainers rather than cycling shoes. If it still creaks only when pushing with the left pedal it's probably the left pedal/crank connection or the bottom bracket. I would try a good sized lump of Ti prep, coperslip or shimano assembly compound on the axle threads. Sometimes a minimalist application of grease isn't enough.

I got rid of a very nasty clicking with these pedals using coppergrease on the threads
Eventually though I just got rid of these very nasty pedals.

Thanks for the tips Mr Fish.
Steve - I've tried a lot of pedals and these ones have been the best all round pedal for me. They do have their flaws but one feature I really like and hate is the way you can be engaged in the pedal without being locked in properly. This means you can get going uphill or even on the flat when the pace is on and worry about getting the cleat in right after your up to speed. It also means that you sometimes have to faff around getting your cleat located properly.

Been using iClic IIs now for about 6 months with great success. No cicking sounds to date.
