Turbo, great 'longer sprint' power and 20min.

Surely you're racing at a good level? Road or mountain?

^Tinea... TurboKoo is one of the best road racers in Finland. Wins most races he takes part in! :) At least that was the case 3...4 years ago when I was over there. I also seem to remember him winning the tour of Helsinki quite easily. He used to be pro a few years back in an italian team. TurboKoo correct me if I am wrong and how has racing been this season?

Thats an amazing 30s power man! Well all those numbers are great! Your power profile seems to say you are great all rounder. Thats quite rare

yeah those are sick number TurboKoo! That 30sec....

Out of interrest, what testing method are you power geek using to estimate FTP? I used to use the 20min/95% method but thought it was too long and mentaly not so pleasant, im now using a MAP test, 25W/1min protocol, bit shorter, but damn hard.

Monod spreadsheet with a few shorter duration tests of 1-5min. and a longer of 20min.-30min.

I've yet to find the typical 20m*.95 to be accurate for any rider I've yet to work with or for myself. Quite a few guys I know have super high vo2 max power that drops off fast and it skews their 20m test quite a bit.

agreed, though testing should be very flexible. I personnaly now use the MAP 72% to estimate my FTP and I can easily validate if the result makes sens when doing efforts in the 5-20min range in training.

Jesus. There are some big numbers in here. I'm 69kg and about:

5sec 1100w
1 minute 480w
5 minute 320w
20minute 285w

My 2012 numbers are lower then 2011. That said, my form in road races was better. Recovering faster after efforts with more matches to burn. Still had snap at the 3 hour mark. Better base fitness I guess.

I know from a lab test I did a while back that my Vo2max sucks.

I worked pretty hard the last two years raising my FTP. I'm getting used to the 20min test.
But very high intensity levels, like 90 sec. - 3min., I just can't give it my max I feel. Probably lots of factors involved (my age (45), not much high intensity practice, physical and mental abilies in general, etc..

I did a MAP test two days ago, and I'm depressed since...
Will try a 20min. test in a few days and compare both. We'll see...

Louis :)

Makes sense, that long sprint 30s power  way to blow wheel sucking final 100m sprinters out of the water.

(what I would not give for one that high)

Also a nice to get some real Pro's data
