@Basilic... Really gorgeous pics of your riding area. I'm envious you have access to those roads every day.

I wish I was in Geneva.
Or just Switzerland, that'll be fine.
Or Grenoble.
Or the Haute-Savoie region.
*sigh*

You gonna wish that in January? Be grateful for what you have in SoCal.prendrefeu wrote:I wish I was in Geneva.

I see how these photos come across as bragging, but is that not the point of the thread. I love to see the dirt roads of Finland, giraffes in South Africa, monsoon in the Philippines, pacific coast in California, country roads in GB, etc. Fact is, indian summer is very short here and I got lucky. This weekend is shot - rain yesterday, and today freezing temps with a northern wind gusting close to 100 km/h.
Wobbly, col des Annes is paved on the south-west side only, the road continues as a dirt path, but I turned around
(and no need to envy my job, that ride cost me a vacation day...).

I don't think anyone sees it as bragging. I'd like to ride loads of these roads but there's only so much time in life eh? Your pics are particularly appealing Basilic.

No, they don't. The best thing about a worldwide cycling forum is that someone somewhere gets to ride roads we'd all like to. You do and you take great photos of them as well so it's all good. (Plus I appreciate how you abstain from using 'art' filters.)

every day there is no snow and ice on them as from yesterday
we've gone from 20 degrees and nice and sunny to grey sky snowfall and 0 in 5 days and that in october
we shouldn't complain that hard, because in a couple of weeks the ski slopes will be open....
I dont usually comment on this thread because it's about the pics but I have to say that this page of pics is amazing!!! The second one in the first post and the one with the giraffes are stellar (and for different reasons!). Seeing things like that are one of the many reasons I love cycling in the first place.
